Servo-electric technology providing cleaner punching, lower energy consumption, and reliable performance
Capacity to process large sheet sizes up to 3050 × 1525 mm
These efficiency features translate to more competitive rates for your high-volume production runs. The innovative parts take-out feature of our AMADA turret punching machines minimises downtime between punching and subsequent operations, keeping your production flowing smoothly.
Versatile Turret Punching Capabilities for Complex Requirements
Our turret punching expertise extends beyond simple hole creation. Your business can benefit from our comprehensive capabilities including:
Precision countersinking
Complex forming operations
Burst patterns for ventilation
Thread tapping directly on the machine
Louvring for airflow management
Slotting and recessing for assembly needs
By combining these operations in a single turret punching process, we help you eliminate secondary operations, reducing handling time and costs while improving quality consistency.
In-Machine Tapping with the EMTK-3510NT
The EMTK-3510NT offers the added advantage of in-machine tapping capability, allowing threaded features to be completed in a single setup. This reduces secondary operations, improves production efficiency, and delivers components that are closer to assembly-ready straight off the machine.

Frequently Asked Questions About Turret Punching
-
Turret punching is a precision sheet metal fabrication process that uses specialised tooling mounted in a rotating turret to create holes, forms, and other features in sheet metal. The machine positions the sheet under the required tool, which then strikes downward with significant force to create the desired feature. At Metal Skills, our advanced Amada turret punching machines can rapidly switch between different tools to create complex patterns and forms in a single setup.
-
Our turret punching services can effectively process a range of materials including mild steel up to 3mm thickness, stainless steel up to 3mm thickness, and aluminium up to 6mm thickness. The specific material capabilities vary slightly between our different machines, allowing us to match your project requirements to the most appropriate turret punching system for optimal results.
-
Turret punching offers significant advantages for high-volume production, including faster processing times, consistent quality across batches, and cost efficiency. Our Amada turret punches feature lights-out/unmanned operation capability, allowing us to run production continuously and offer more competitive rates. The automated parts take-out feature minimises downtime between operations, further enhancing efficiency for your high-volume requirements.
-
Our vast selection of turret punching tooling enables us to create a wide variety of shapes and forms including round holes, squares, rectangles, ovals, slots, and custom shapes. Beyond simple hole creation, our turret punching capabilities extend to forming operations such as countersinking, louvring, embossing, lancing, and thread tapping—all performed directly on the turret punching machine to reduce handling and secondary operations.
-
Turret punching is one of the fastest sheet metal fabrication methods available, with our Amada machines capable of performing up to 900 hits per minute depending on material thickness and complexity. For standard production runs, turret punching operations are typically completed within 24–48 hours. However, lead times may vary depending on current workload, as we have other scheduled work in progress. We do our best to accommodate urgent jobs where possible and will advise on turnaround time at the time of quoting.
